Three (PLUS A BONUS)Things I Learned on my Expedition Across Campus1. The University of Akron has many different historical statues/sites that I never really paid attention to before.2. I learned that the rock candy statue was actually the first outdoor sculpture of polymer materials on a universities campus.3. The amphitheater is not just a bunch of random poles in the ground it was actually dedicated to a professor that graduated from The University of Akron.4.NEVER MISS CLASS BECAUSE ITS A PAIN TO GO AROUND CAMPUS AND DO THE ACTIVITY ON YOUR OWN RATHER THAN WITH THE CLASS! :)

Ohio Content Standards for Technology

Standard 1: Nature of Technology
Students develop an understanding of technology, its characteristics, scope, core concepts* and relationships between technologies and other fields.

During this activity we link math and technology. By using our cell phones we linked technology (finding to sites) to math (finding the next coordinate).

Standard 2: Technology and Society Interaction
Students recognize interactions among society, the environment and technology, and understand technology's relationship with history. Consideration of these concepts forms a foundation for engaging in responsible and ethical use of technology.

During this activity we interacted in the environment by going out and finding the sites and linked the sites to history.

Standard 3: Technology for Productivity Applications
Students learn the operations of technology through the usage of technology and productivity tools.

During this activity we used our cell phones to input coordinates to find the geocaching locations.

Standard 4: Technology and Communication Applications
Students use an array of technologies and apply design concepts to communicate with multiple audiences, acquire and disseminate information and enhance learning.

After geocaching we used multiple forms of technology to put together our presentation. I used animoto, audacity and wikispaces.

Standard 5: Technology and Information Literacy
Students engage in information literacy strategies, use the Internet, technology tools and resources, and apply information-management skills to answer questions and expand knowledge.
